WHAT IS RUNGMC?

RUNGMC is Godmanchester Running Club’s main charity event of the year teaming up with The Exhibition and it takes part in the 24 hours before the annual Godmanchester Fun Run.
RUNGMC is a 24 hour running relay in Godmanchester, raising money for Macmillan and more specifically The Woodlands Center at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The relay is laps of 4 miles with an approx. (but not strict) allotted time of 40 minutes. Over the past two years, RUNGMC and the Fun Run have raised approx. £12,000.

WHAT IS THE ROUTE?

The 4 mile relay route starts and finishes at The Exhibition in Godmanchester. Ideal for re-fuelling or pre-fuelling!

The route heads off down the Causeway, over the Recreation Ground, a lap of Portholme meadow and back to The Exhibition for a well earned beverage/pizza.

DO I HAVE TO RUN AT 10 MINUTE MILING?

There is absolutely no pressure to run at a certain speed. 40 minutes is an approximate guide, but if you wish to run faster or slower that is absolutely fine. RUNGMC is suitable for all runners/joggers/fast walkers of any capacity and there is no pressure to stick to the time limit.

HOW DO I TAKE PART IN RUNGMC?

We ask for a recommended donation of £5, per runner, per slot.
Every penny goes to Macmillan Cancer Support. Please log onto our JustGiving page and register by making a donation of at least £5. On the JustGiving page is a link to the rota and Joe’s e-mail address if you have any problems.

CAN I ENTER A TEAM INTO RUNGMC?

Definitely, we encourage teams to take on as many slots as possible. Either together as a group or in a team relay effort. If you would like to
take a big chunk as a team relay, please contact me, as even if the
current slots are full we can put you on your own separate slots as a
team or waive the entry fee and substitute it with a Team JustGiving Page instead.

CAN CHILDREN TAKE PART?

The more the merrier. Children have been a huge part of the past two
RUNGMC’s and love the medal and goody bag at the finish line, as long
as they have adult supervision and are running under the responsibility of an parent or guardian, children of any age can enter and take on a slot of RUNGMC
